DDC joined the 7th ASEAN Health Cluster 2 Meeting in Singapore

On 21 and 23 September 2022, Thailand, led by Dr Anupong Sujariyakul, was co-chair and worked alongside the chair of Singapore in the 7th ASEAN Health Cluster 2 Meeting. In addition, delegates from the Department of Disease Control (DDC) and the Department of Medical Sciences (DMSC) were fully engaged in discussing a broad range of issues related to disease prevention and control, public health emergency responses including the direction of ACPHEED .

In this meeting, Dr. Soawapak Hinjoy, the delegate from the DDC presented the project "Capacity Needs Assessment during the COVID-19 period" which was supported by GIZ. She stated that our region still had a gap on the implementation at point of entries and infodemic management. These two areas needed to be strengthened for the better Disease prevention and control in our region. In the meantime, Delegates from the DDC and DMSC presented and shared the progress of implementation in various projects led by Thailand such as HIV/AIDs prevention and control, biosafety & biosecurity, AMR, Environmental Health as well as ARCH project which helps strengthen the regional capacity on Disaster Health Management.

Apart from discussing with the 10 AMS, Thai delegates also shared the interest to work with the development/dialogue partners such as GIZ, JICA, USCDC, USAID, ROK, USAID, UNICEF and the WHO. In addition, all ASEAN Health Cluster 2 delegates joined the site visit at NCID which was established to strengthen Singapore's capacity and capability in infectious diseases and outbreak prevention, surveillance, and response.

Therefore, the 3 days - ASEAN Health Cluster 2 meeting in Singapore is very significant and valuable in term of collaboration and implementation among AMS and partners that can ensure the sustainability of health security in the region.

กรมควบคุมโรค รายงานความก้าวหน้าสร้างไทยยั่งยืนด้านสุขภาพในเวทีอาเซียน ครั้งที่ 7 ณ สิงคโปร์

กรมควบคุมโรค ในนามผู้เเทนประเทศไทยร่วมกับกรมวิทยาศาสตร์การเเพทย์ เข้าร่วมการประชุม ASEAN Health Cluster 2 ครั้งที่ 7 พร้อมอภิปรายประเด็นต่างๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการป้องกันและควบคุมโรค การตอบสนองฉุกเฉินด้านสาธารณสุข ณ ประเทศสิงคโปร์ ระหว่างวันที่ 21-23 กันยายน 2565 ที่ผ่านมา เน้นย้ำ 2 ประเด็นที่ต้องพัฒนาเร่งด่วน คือ การดำเนินการ ณ จุดเข้าออกระหว่างประเทศ และการสื่อสารความเสี่ยง

วันที่ 21 -23 กันยายน 2565 ณ ประเทศสิงคโปร์ กรมควบคุมโรค นำโดย ดร.อนุพงษ์ สุจริตกุล เป็นประธานร่วมและทำงานร่วมกับประธานสิงคโปร์ในการประชุม ASEAN Health Cluster 2 ครั้งที่ 7 พร้อมด้วยผู้แทนจากกรมควบคุมโรคและกรมวิทยาศาสตร์การแพทย์ ร่วมการอภิปรายประเด็นต่างๆ ที่เกี่ยวข้องกับการป้องกันและควบคุมโรค การตอบสนองฉุกเฉินด้านสาธารณสุข ศึกษาดูงานของสิงคโปร์ในด้านโรคติดเชื้อและการป้องกัน การเฝ้าระวัง และการตอบสนองการระบาด รวมถึงทิศทางของศูนย์อาเซียนด้านภาวะฉุกเฉินทางสาธารณสุขและโรคอุบัติใหม่ (ACPHEED)

สัตวเเพทย์หญิง ดร.เสาวพักตร์ ฮิ้นจ้อย ผู้อำนวยการสำนักงานความร่วมมือระหว่างประเทศในนามผู้เเทนของกรมควบคุมโรคได้นำเสนอโครงการ “การประเมินความต้องดารพัฒนาสมรรถนะในช่วงการระบาดของโรคโควิด 19 ในกลุ่มประเทศอาเซียน ซึ่งได้รับการสนับสนุนจาก GIZ

“ภูมิภาคของอาเซียนยังคงมีช่องว่าง อาทิ การดำเนินการ ณ จุดเข้าออกระหว่างประเทศ และการสื่อสารความเสี่ยง ทั้งสองประเด็นนี้มีจำเป็นต้องได้รับการเสริมสร้างอย่างเร่งด่วน เพื่อการป้องกันและควบคุมโรคที่ดีขึ้นในภูมิภาค” สัตวเเพทย์หญิงเสาวพักตร์ กล่าว

ในระหว่างนี้ ผู้แทนจาก DDC และ DMSC ได้นำเสนอและแบ่งปันความคืบหน้าของการดำเนินการในโครงการต่างๆ ที่นำโดยประเทศไทย เช่น การป้องกันและควบคุมเอชไอวี/เอดส์ ความปลอดภัยทางชีวภาพและความมั่นคงทางชีวภาพ การดื้ยาต้านจุลชีพ (AMR) อนามัยสิ่งแวดล้อม ตลอดจนโครงการ ARCH ที่ช่วยเสริมสร้างความเข้มแข็งให้กับภูมิภาค ความสามารถด้านการจัดการอาชีวอนามัย เป็นต้น นอกจากนี้ ยังได้แบ่งปันความสนใจที่จะทำงานร่วมกับพันธมิตรด้านการพัฒนา/การเจรจา เช่น GIZ, JICA, US CDC, USAID, ROK, USAID, UNICEF และ WHO

สัตวเเพทย์หญิงเสาวพักตร์ กล่าวอีกว่า ตลอดระยะเวลา 3 วัน ASEAN Health Cluster 2 ที่สิงคโปร์จึงมีความสำคัญและมีค่ามากในแง่ของความร่วมมือและการดำเนินการระหว่างประเทศในอาเซียนและพันธมิตรที่สามารถรับประกันความยั่งยืนของความมั่นคงด้านสุขภาพในภูมิภาค
