ACPHEED RRC Interim Office together with ACPHEED DRA Leadership Team and J-CEFA Experts to Refine 5-Year ASEAN Regional Surveillance Strategic Roadmap

On June 4, 2026, the Interim Office of the ASEAN Centre for Public Health Emergencies and Emerging Diseases for Response and Risk Communication (ACPHEED RRC Interim Office) in Thailand, led by Dr. Suchada Jiamsiri, Director of the Interim Office, welcomed and held a technical discussion with the ACPHEED Detection and Risk Assessment (DRA) Leadership Team from the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia. The Indonesian delegation was led by Dr. Rita Ratna Puri, Deputy Director of the Center for Global Health Policy for Regional Cooperation, and was accompanied by experts from the Japan-Cooperation on the Establishment and Operationalization of ACPHEED (J-CEFA).

The meeting focused on reviewing the "Zero Draft of the Five-Year Strategic Roadmap for Establishing the ASEAN Regional Surveillance System." As the host country for the Detection and Risk Assessment (DRA) pillar of ACPHEED, Indonesia developed this zero draft in accordance with the Centre's designated scope of work.

Dr. Suchada Jiamsiri stated that The objective of this technical discussion is to gather inputs, perspectives, and recommendations from Thailand's Response and Risk Communication pillar to ensure that the strategic roadmap is fully aligned, integrated, and coherent with ACPHEED's overall functions and operational priorities. Crucially, the discussion aimed to map out the precise linkage of the DRA pillar's roles with the Prevention and Preparedness pillar, as well as Thailand’s Response and Risk Communication (RRC) pillar, during both peace time and public health emergencies. This ensures seamless synergy across all ACPHEED pillars, ultimately strengthening regional collaboration in surveillance and public health intelligence.
