DDC Thailand welcomed the delegations of the UK Health Security Agency and is pleased to exchange staff to learn in the future.

The Department of Disease Control (DDC) welcomed a group visit from the United Kingdom's Health Security Agency (UKHSA) on the occasion of travelling to develop projects in ASEAN countries. Thailand has been selected by the Ministers of Health of the ASEAN countries to establish the Secretariat office of ASEAN Center for Public Health Emergencies and Emerging Diseases (ACPHEED) and work with Vietnam and Indonesia in prevention and detection centers. This may be a good opportunity to develop collaboration between the DDC and UKHSA, especially in response areas as Thailand is responsible for the response center under the ACPHEED.  The DDC and the UKHSA agreed to staff exchange for workforce development and joint projects in the future on related issues.  Developing responses to diseases and health hazards between countries along the border is the shared interest of both sides.
